Everything your puppy has already had, and everything you will need in the first months at home.
Every puppy has a full nose-to-tail veterinary examination before going home: heart and lungs, eyes and ears, teeth and bite, joints, abdomen and body condition. You receive the dated report from the practice that carried it out.
Puppies receive the vaccinations due for their age before delivery, recorded with the date and product used. Your own veterinarian completes the course — book that first appointment within seventy-two hours of bringing your puppy home.
A routine deworming schedule begins at two weeks and repeats every two weeks until delivery day. The product names and dates are listed in your puppy's record so your vet can continue seamlessly.
Every puppy is microchipped before leaving us. The number is provided in writing and the registration is transferred into your name at handover, not left for you to chase.
Puppies go home on the food they are already eating, with a starter supply included. Small breeds need frequent small meals — three or four a day until about four months old — and are prone to low blood sugar if meals are skipped.
Low-shedding coats need brushing to the skin three to four times a week and a professional groom every four to eight weeks depending on breed. We start brushing, nail trimming and blow-dryer handling with every puppy so the first salon visit is not a shock.
Short, frequent sessions beat long walks. Avoid repetitive stair climbing and jumping down from furniture while a small puppy's growth plates are still open — this matters especially for Mini Dachshunds.
Refusing food for more than a few hours, lethargy, repeated vomiting or diarrhoea, wobbliness, or pale gums all warrant a same-day call. In a small-breed puppy, low blood sugar can develop quickly and should never be waited out.
