About the Yorkshire Terrier
The Yorkshire Terrier is a true terrier in miniature: brave, busy and entirely convinced of its own importance. They were bred to work, and that drive still shows in their curiosity.
Their coat is hair rather than fur, growing continuously and shedding very little. A full-length show coat needs daily attention; most families keep a short, practical puppy trim instead.
Always walk a Yorkie on a harness rather than a collar. Small tracheas are easily damaged, and a harness also gives you more control over a confident little dog who wants to greet everybody.
